Board President Betty Jackson explaining policy during a recent member meeting.

The Resident Association functions in many ways for its members. One primary function is to assist members in understanding SMHA policies and HUD regulations that affect them as members of the Housing Authority in Stark County. We have a number of documents in our members library available online.

Another function is to work with residents in helping to create and maintain community among the various public housing projects in Stark County. Our members are already accomplishing some exciting things, and there are plenty of new opportunities for everyone to participate in.

Would you be interested and willing to get involved in making a difference in your community? There are so many ways you can join in, and give as much or as little time as you have available. We'd love to help you find a place to use your special abilities!

The Resident Association board is comprised of members like you. The Resident Association is the very basis for grassroots support of SMHA residents. All officers are chosen and elected by the residents. It is important that you involve yourself in the very group of people that can help you stand up for your rights and give you an influential voice in the community. Feel free to call on them at any time to answer questions about anything related to your housing needs.
