SMHA Resident Association

Resident Association President starts attending SMHA Board Meetings.

SMHA Resident Association President, Mark Stevenson, has been attending SMHA Board Meetings to find out how business is processed and what is discussed. Much to our surprise, resident board member, Linda Bell, was just elected as Chairman of the board in the October board meeting. The resident association will start working with Linda Bell to verify that she is privy to resident concerns and will be working to bring the interests of the resident population to the table.

Recently, Betty Jackson, RA Vice-President, went to Baltimore, Maryland and participated in a NAHRO conference (see article on Commissioners Fundamentals Trip) to understand more concerning the respeonsibilities of a resident board member on the Board of Commisioners. Mark and Betty are researching the information to determine how to best work with Linda Bell and the rest of the board for input of resident concerns. We will keep you informed on our progress.
